The Easter weekend was very hot,true religion jeans wholesale, so I thought it would be a good idea to sew a little pair of floaty shorts for the summer. (SInce then it’s been too cold to wear them. Typical.)
They’re McCalls 6328, view D,knock off true religion jeans, and this is a link to a line drawing because you can’t really see the details on the photo. Basically they have an enormous great ruffle at each side which makes them look like a little skirt.
I followed the measurements given on the pattern pieces, and annoyingly I could have made one size smaller. But I can wear these as a lower-waisted style, and cut one of the others in the next size down. They’re meant to come up to your bellybutton, which I like,true religion brand jeans, and most of the views are on separate pattern pieces so that you don’t destroy the others by cutting out one. Except for the waistband, which I can copy and re-size easily enough.
My next mission is to adapt the pattern and see if these will work in a lightweight silk as a pair of very fancy french knickers. I just need to decide whether to move the centre back zip to the side, or whether to re-draft the waist and finish them with elastic instead.

Tomorrow I will still be sharing recipes for beauty and promise I will get the maternity styles up on Saturday. For some reason I am out of steam this week. Maybe it’s the humidity … or maybe it’s just the combination of chasing Ava around all day and barely sleeping at night. Mike and I came to the realization the other day that we won’t get to sleep in again until we’re like 50. Makes me want to go back in time and really savor those lazy sleep until noon days.
Well, I don’t want to forfeit this post entirely, so here are some great recipes for a few simple, delicious, and healthy summer salads,wholesale true religion jeans! Enjoy,discount true religion jeans!
To Make Green Bean & Squash Salad … Boil fresh green beans for about 4 minutes and then place into ice water. Thinly slice yellow squash and place in bowl with mixed greens. Chop up some green [or red] onion and add to salad. Remove green beans from the ice water, blot dry and toss into bowl w/ some light italian dressing or olive oil, lemon, salt, pepper. Crisp and clean flavors! Yummy!
To Make Black Bean & Avocado Salad … This one is soooo simple. Boil water and toss in corn. Cut up avocado, carrot, green pepper,true religion jeans discounted, and tomato [optional]. Strain corn and rinse under cold water. Open up a can of black beans and rinse. Throw everything together in a bowl and you’re finished! If you want to add a little spice, throw in some garlic [or mix in garlic paste] or jalepeno, a little bit of lime juice, and some salt. Have leftovers? Throw it in some soft or hard taco shells with grilled chicken or ground beef.

I thought these might be an improvement on the teeny-tiny strawberry shorts, but they’re not.
They’re bunchy between the legs,true religion jeans wholesale, the satin bias tape is stiff and horrible, and the elastic’s all rolled up inside the casing. Very disappointing. I was hoping that these would work in the organic cottons, which are a similar weight to quilting cotton, but now I’m not sure.
However, I remain hopeful that if I actually decide to be brave enough to try these out in a lighter fabric, I should get a better impression of what they’re actually going to be like. Next time I might add a seam down the front and back, so I can cut them on the bias. I think that would look pretty in a nice washed silk dupion.
I definitely want to make these from woven fabrics, and I really want them to be floaty and pretty, not stiff like cotton boxer shorts. What I really want is to make them out of silk, but because silk is expensive I have a mental block about using it to make prototype garments, many of which are going to be unwearable.
Thankfully a friend of a friend gave us the name of a shop in London that sells silks from £2.50 a metre – if you don’t mind buying ten metres at a time. So even after you add in the cost of getting to London, that’s still most definitely a bargain!
I think it might be time to splash out on some more appropriate fabric,true religion jeans on sale, so that I can make as many prototypes as I need to without worrying about the cost.
